I so, so want to put apostrophes in those two hyphenated phrases up there in the title. While I’m having my morning coffee and thinking about what else to bring you fine folk this weekend, here are a few tidbits.
Believe It or Not:
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the Variety of the fashion and beauty industries, Sephora and JC Penney are collaborating on a line of beauty vending machines (!) stocked with 50 of Sephora’s best-selling products. Just imagine, that bottle of BeneTint could be yours with $28 worth of quarters, and you also get the additional fun of banging on the front plastic panel, swearing, and kicking the machine.
I Told You So:
Also according to WWD, ULTA’s profits for the third quarter of 2009 are up a whopping 68.6%! I think their new drugstore tester displays are doing them a world of good.
Are you the kind of person who likes to buy Halloween candy in July, Christmas presents in September, and Fourth of July fireworks in February? Then you will be chomping at the bit when I tell you that Spring 2010 makeup collections are just around the corner! What’s that you say? We just had Thanksgiving and it isn’t even technically winter yet? You haven’t even bought your Holiday 2009 lipsticks? You still have to put away your Arbor Day decorations? Pfft. Spring 2010 makeup collections are starting to be seen on European websites, many with January launch dates. (January is next month, by the way; I know it doesn’t seem like it, but there it is.) This just makes me tired, because I’m really not ready to hear about how this year’s nude is so different from last year’s nude. Sigh.
