Skeptic Files: L’Oreal True Match Roller Perfecting Roll-On Makeup

By Voxy

Really, L’Oreal?

You want me to apply my foundation with a roller? Really?

Can I just go to Home Depot and get one of the ones for paint?

Who in your product design division thought that this would be an attractive and appealing delivery mechanism? Have you ever — ever — heard a woman say, “You know, I would enjoy putting on foundation so much more if I could do it with a miniature paint roller…” ??? Does it make that nasty little sucking sound that paint rollers make when you pull them off the wall or out of the pan? Do you have to tape off your lips and nostrils so as not to get any foundation on there? (And let’s not even talk about the hygiene aspect of it. For your peace of mind, don’t even think about it.)

And oh, please, tell me they’re going to make a primer. They just have to. It’s too good an opportunity to pass up.

This is even wackier than the Lancome Oscillation Vibrating Foundation. Why, they’re both so nutty that you’d almost think that you two were, like, the same company or something. Oh, wait…

L’Oreal True Match Roller Perfecting Roll-On Makeup is hitting stores now. Available in 12 shades.

(Have you used this product? Love it? Hate it? Want it? Give a holler in the comments!)

I didn’t quite believe in this product until I saw the print ad today. It shows the model holding the roller to her face. They warn you that regular foundation application can be “streaky.”

You mean you thought I might be making it up? :) Hee! That would actually be a good blog post: “are these bizarre things real or did Voxy make them up?”

I thought maybe I’d been hitting the New Year’s sauce a little early and had one of those drunk dreams.

        Not that I have those.

Or that I dream about Foxy Voxy’s.

        Er, yeah. That’s it.

You mean this is not the early April Fool’s Day edition?
    Good grief!
