Oh, So Close … to 1,000 Comments!

Mod Monkey Party Birthday Cake Topper close face by SpiritMama.Ladies (and gentlemen),

We are very, very close to 1,000 comments on this blog! How cool is that?!

Answer: Not as cool as the fact that the person who makes the 1,000th comment will win a little goody bag from me to be sent in the mail!

Of course I can’t tell you how far away we are, exactly, because where’s the fun in that? I can promise, though, that I will not make the 1,000th comment myself, and I will probably wait to respond to any further comments until the 1K line is crossed, so that I am out of the picture.

UPDATE: We have a winner! Yay, Relationalista!

(If you are the winner, I will need your name and mailing address, which I will ask you to send to me via email, so if you are the winner but prefer not to give that information, let me know and I will pass the prize along to the next person!)

    Congrats, Relationalista!

Are the contents of the goodie bag a secret? Will we all become green with envy, and thus even more needful of Voxy’s make-up advice?

The contents have not yet been determined! But it will be similar to the goody bag Baz received when she was the magic 500th commenter.

Thanks, Francie! I’m very excited and always needful of the advice, greenish (or other) tint to the complexion notwithstanding.

That sounds like a great idea. I’m hoping to pick one up next weekend, though I have no idea if they’ll be in stock. I had intended to phone and reserve one but never got round to doing it.
I always tend to stick with the same look with eyeshadow (different colours but applied in the same way) so I’d definitely like to get a few new ideas of what I could do with the palette.

Ooh yes, that is a great idea! Like CBD, I don’t experiment much with makeup. I don’t feel like I know what I’m doing, so I just try to do a quick and reasonable job and move on.

I am going to try to do some looks this fall; I’ve been thinking about how to do this and have some ideas that involve shuffling around the infrastructure of the blog a little. Email if you want details.

With my travel schedule for the next couple of weeks and then the start of term, I don’t think it will happen until September at the earliest for me, although if you all are inspired and want to do some looks and send photos and descriptions, I’ll happily post them.

Wait, you can reserve them? I should do THAT. They hit stores the 27th, right? Also, I LOVE the eye-of-the-day idea! I would feel ok about eyelid pics, I think!

Well, I don’t know if all stores let you reserve things, but I was going to call the Sephora in the city I’ll be in next weekend just to see if they’d put one aside for me. I could probably still call them, I just need to work out how to say “naked palette” properly in their language, or I might end up asking for something entirely different…

A chance to make history! Here is my official comment:The Naked Palette is still out of stock at Sephora and UD. When, oh when, will it come back in stock? (make sure to read that with a whine and a little sob at the end)

I signed up for the alert email and have been reloading the product page every now and again just to see if it happens to be in. I’ll join you in the whine and sob thing.

I’m on the email list too. I keep checking my spam folder and the website, just in case.

If several of us are going to have the palette, maybe it would be interesting to do a post comparing the different looks we each create. Even without illustrations, it would be fun to read.

Just as I enjoy seeing fashions on women with different body types (hello, skinny jeans, how much better you look on other people), I also like seeing makeup looks on wemen with different coloring.

I’m pretty inexperienced with creating different looks. There are some videos on youtube with women using the Naked Palette, but the ones I have seen so far are very dramatic looks, down to the false lashes.

Woohoo! So glad that the nagging you to start this blog has panned out so well. I, for one, find it highly educational as well as guiltily pleasurable.

To avoid gratuitously adding comments in the run-up to the big number, I’m going to ask a question here for when you return to commenting: microdermabrasion — what are your thoughts on it? I bought some micro-derm exfoliation stuff (the Boots No.7 Total Renewal line) recently and have used it a few times. It absolutely makes my skin feel great after use, but I’m slightly concerned that it might be too rough at the micro level (probably inaccurate phrasing, but you know what I might, right?). I can feel the scratchiness when I’m using it, and I massage it over my face gently so as not to abrade unnecessarily, but are these things just too harsh to use? Thanks!

And Relationalista is the winner! (And not because you said nice things about the blog, either, but you were #1000!)

To claim your prize, send me an email at voxy {at] foxyvoxy [dot} com and we can discuss details!

(I’ll get on the microdermabrasion thing separately, preferably when I can string sentences together coherently.)

Totally cool! You’re going to be BIG, I just know it! (There are already lots of other readers besides us academic types, right?)
