EOTD: Blue Moon

By Voxy

Just for kicks, I played around with a few of my BareMinerals shadows this afternoon. Yes, I am avoiding grading. You wanna make somethin’ of it?

• Base: MAC Painterly
• Colors: Bare Minerals “Year of Beauty” collection — January (pale blue), July (deep blue), December (white with multicolored glitter, which doesn’t show up in this photo)
• Liner: Urban Decay Perversion (black), MAC Petrol Blue pearlglide
• Mascara: Lancome Oscillating Waterproof. I’d already had mascara on today so this came out spikier and not as full as I’d have liked, but I was just playing around.
• Brow: Tarte Brow Mousse in medium

I hope I’m not double posting, but just in case the first one didn’t go through, I LOVE this eye. :)

Hey, I’ll take all the compliments I can get! :D

Thanks, Sheila! I need to start doing more EOTD’s — I don’t know how you manage to do it on your blog. It takes me forever! There must be a routine I need to work out in terms of managing time and logistics, especially when running out the door to work….

    So pretty!

What do you think of the brow mousse vs Tarte EmphasEYES pencil?

I like them equally well — and I like them a lot. I think the pencil (in Medium Brown) is a tiny bit cooler than the mousse? And it’s not actually a “mousse” — if they brought you something like that for dessert in a restaurant, you could have the chef fired. It’s a wax, really.

My biggest issue with the pencil is that because it’s very hard (as many eyebrow pencils are), you can’t have more than a tiny bit screwed up at once or it breaks, like a piece of lead out of a mechanical pencil. Other than that, it’s great; certainly preferable to the mousse for travel. But I like them both.

For this look I wish I’d darkened the brow more, with a brown eyeshadow or brow powder. The eye color is strong and the brow doesn’t quite balance it. Next time!
